Split off these messages and made a new topic.

Kerry, when adding England did you choose from the pull-down menu and then click on "Select Country" ??

I did, the second time I tried and it made no difference. :-\

It's just worked for me and I was having the same trouble.  Once I realised that I had to click the "Select Country" box, after I had selected a  country, this then gave me a drop-down box for counties.  I am using IE, but if I recall you use Firefox?

Before I'd worked this out, I was saving the entry, and then editing it to add the county.   ::)

Whatever, well-done Bob, and all others who sail in the SIT mechanical area, for getting it back up in circulation again  :)

This may help:  I've added a sentence, underneath the country box ...
Choose country and click 'Select ...' button

Thanks Bob,
that seems to be working fine now.

and I like the new layout with one per line in the "Find all ..." view, makes it easier to glance down and see where they are from and not miss the ones with less information attached.

Curious, now that you mention it Kooky, the "S" entries don't seem to be organised in strict alphabetical order either!  ???

... and some are repeated.

(added: perhaps these comments should be on the other thread at: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php /topic,434305.0.html)

Loads and loads of 'em, right down to SZYMANSKI !
The surnames are now sorted horizontally, instead of vertically.

Hi Bob,

the problems all seem to have gone away this morning but I checked after kooky mentioned problems yesterday and it stopped after SM... entries for me too but there were lots of them and in strange orders with repetitions.

In particular, I remember that  SM.. and SN... entries were all jumbled up, as were SC..., SH..., etc.  and that a number of double names appeared several time, some of which don't seem to be there at all today (was it reading from some old scratchpad?).  Among other names that were repeated were SAMs, SAMMS etc.  I noticed those because I was carefully checking that it wasn't just a case of alternative spellings.  It looked like it had got lost when trying to populate the table and kept on repeating, but I didn't notice whether they were complete blocks in the same order that repeated,  I don't think so because of the way the SN.. and SM.. entries were almost alternating in parts.

All seems to have gone away now.
