MARSHALL family of Barnsley

Further to my posts of some months ago re William Henry Marshall b. 1857 at Barnsley Union Workhouse, illigitimate s.o. Mary Marshall b. 1835, it now appears from DNA testing that William Henry's father may have been a person by the name of Wood.  It seems that we fall into the Haplogroup R1b1b2a1b4c1 (L20) and are awaiting confirmation of this from FamilyTreeDNA following a "deep clade test".

Are there any participants out there by the name of Wood who have had their Y-DNA tested who may be willing to compare their results?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have already maped the Marshal has potential L20 candidate.

One of the Marshal sample already figure on my spreadsheet.

We have already been in touch via Y-Search;  the Marshall on your system is indeed our William Henry b. 1857.  There must of course be more descendants of William Henry Marshall out there - he had five sons -

Albert Marshall b.  about 1880
George b. about 1887
Walter b. about 1888
William Henry b. March 1890 (my grandfather)
Joseph Arthur b. March 1899

It would be good if we could find some of these descendants, as well as people from the Barnsley area by the name of Wood so that we can compare DNA. 

I will be in touch with the deep clade tests once they are to hand (around 22 Feb.)

Gertrude Turnbull
 I believe he came from
Nether Hallam West Riding his son my Grand Father "Frank Earle Marshall" born 1901 Lived in Ecclesall West Riding. Married Agnes Bray
 My Father "Frank Earle Marshall "deceased"
The problem I am having is sorting out who's who with the sheer number of Marshall's in that area.
I have some original funeral receipts and Canadian emigration papers

There appears to be a two William Henry Marshall who have married a Gertrude, one was born c1856 the other born c 1871 both have sons named Frank one born 1882 Sheffield the other Frank born c1902 Sheffield his middle name is Earle

unfortunately I have only been on roots a short time as a result not very proficient.
I can definitely say My Grand Father was Frank Earle Marshall born in Ecclesall West Riding in Jun/Jul 1901 he married Agnes Bray
His father William Henry Marshall married Gertrude Turnbull/Turnball
There is a rather interesting story attached but far too long to put in a post. If I had a personal email I would be glad to send you a update

It’s probably Gertrude’s mother who remarried a John CHAPMAN (although not found their marriage)
Gertrude’s father appears to be named James TURNBULL see censuses below

plus sister Rebecca living at 24 Bloo(?) Street Nether Hallam Sheffield boarding with them is
William H MARSHALL age 20 Sheffield occ Brass Caster, William’s occupation ties in with later censuses he's a  Brass Moulder

Having followed the 1881 census  William H Marshall with parents Henry & Eliza Ann backwards he appears to be a different William Henry Marshall  (as per 1891c above)

This William Henry is in fact the step son of Henry Marshall he's on the 1891 census as a William Henry WILKINSON born c1880 Sheffield

there is another William H Marshall born c1871 Sheffield on 1881 census parents are Charles & Agnes (Charles & Agnes married 1878 Agnes must be his step mother)
