hi I`M married into the bellis family in liverpool , from mold and flint but no sarah`s or aarons , I KNOW there were at least 2 families in mold area . also a lot of bellis family killes in the blitz in dec 1940 at blackstock gardens , very odd as my mother in law was in the shelter and survived  and  later married one of the other bellis family ,joseph . his relations were issac and john who came over to liverpool as blacksmiths . look into the blackstock gardens memorial  or the  war memorial site it lists civilians killed and has all the names of the bellis family killed sadly quite a lot. hope this may help .barb.

Hi Barbara.  Thank you for your comments. It is a shame no Aaron or Sarah were in your family.  I will however follow up your suggestion to check out who died in the 1940 blitz as it might throw up something useful.    James

Hi Stacey,
The Sarah Bellis I have been referring to married an Aaron Maddocks.  This Sarah was a spinster on marriage and so possibly it could be that your Sarah Bellis is related in some way but all I have is that I believe her parents were Robert Bellis born c.1800 Breton and Hannah born c.1800. :-\     James

Hello There.....

Where did you get the marriage date of 1851 ?

Aaron Maddocks, married Sarah Bellis, at Liverpool St Silas on the 27th April 1843. The banns were read 3 times

Aaron Maddocks married Mary Bellis, at St Nicholas Church, Liverpool, on the 8th March 1847. Mary's father was Robert Bellis, labourer. Witnesses were William Bellis, and Mary Whitehead

This information is from the original Records.

JeannieR

PS. I have just seen the 1851 marriage, and I am thrown into confusion !! Ancestry have got the original marriage records on line, for Liverpool, and there appears to be three marriages for Aaron Maddocks. Sarah in 1843/ Mary in 1847 / Sarah 1851

Hi ......

It is definitely there on Ancestry......perhaps they didn't go through with it in 1843, just had the banns read......She would have been quite young then...

It would appear that they were sisters though, but I cannot find their baptisms at all, and I have all the PR's for that period
