Jack, BTC - Thanks for the Information.

I have recently received a report Irish Midlands Ancestry, which i requested in a bid  to clarify the issues - it has only served to cause greater confusion....
It appears that at the time of the 1901 census and in the decade prior to it there are in fact two families of Cunninghams where the father is Peter and the mother Bridget BYRNE - the difference being circa 5 years age diff and the one set originates from Kildare!
so many of the childer i am looking into have the same family name / credentials but not the same family. I had hoped that the research would provide some answers but it has only created more....
i guess the good news is that i now know that many of the cunningham families in the area are related through JAMES and Mary KIERNAN (and several misspellings !! ) including Timothy and Daniel Cunningham.

watch this space for help with questions as i try and unravel this ....
