I've split your post off the moderator's post on ANTRIM board, named it 'Galvina?' and moved it to IRELAND-GENERAL board for you.

I had a look at the BMD site at http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=2;t=searchable and the name appears to be most common in Mexico/South America. No connection to Ireland as far as I can see.
