James Begg-Mary Christison Marriage

I'm trying to find any record of a marriage between James Begg and Mary Christison.

Here's what I have so far -
James must have been born around 1788, probably around Angus/Kincardineshire, but if anyone can find a birth record for him I'd be most grateful.

 He died on 22 Jan 1859 age 72 when he fell off the gable end of a house that was being demolished in the parish of Fettercairn. His parents are given as James Begg & Margaret Hogg

Mary Christison was born about 1808 in Edzell and died on 23 May 1882 in Fordoun.

They had at least one child, Martha Begg (my G-Grandmother) born 2 Sep 1837 in Fettercairn.

Any information on this family most welcome.

If you go to the IGI at www.familysearch.org.uk and enter your Marthas name you come up with one entry.

If you then click on the batch no. bottom left takes you to another page.  enter only fathers name.  You are then given a list of 6 children (possible 7) for this couple, all born Fettercairn - all 'extracted'.  Shall pm you on how to search for children born to a couple.

Thanks to Piglet01, Snowolf and EV.

EV - The link you gave me shows the marriage of James and Mary as 24 Dec 1807 in Edzell, but I can't find in in "Scotlands People". I wonder where that information came from??

It also shows James' Christening as 1 Sep 1787 in Fourdon, but I have found it on SP as 25 Aug 1785.

I'm a bit confused

Seems that record was last updated in 2006, so assuming that they still have the same email, it's worth a shot.

mary maybe had 2 children before she "married" james begg - alexander
