Could you do me a favour and look up 1450 Pte Chas Fredericks, he may of served in the 4th Light Dragoons although I'm not certain but have been told he was taken prisoner and was entitled to the Alma, Balaklava and Sebastapol clasps.

He's confirmed on the casualty roll anyway, as being taken prisoner at Balaklava 25 Oct 1854
4th light dragoons is correct.

If you were here I would kiss you  oooppps sorry but I'm screaming the place down as I've just bought his Crimean campaign medal off a dealer on ebay ........... for a bargain at £195, was expecting to see it go for over £400 which is over double what my limit was.

Before I pop the champers can you confirm that the 4th Light Dragoons took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade, if not then I'll have to open the Pomagne

Ahhh, I'd recommend caution............ 
If something looks too good to be true, 9 times out of 10 it is.
Be very careful you haven't been taken for a ride. Ebay is notorious for dodgy sellers, and because you don't get to examine the goods before buying personally I consider it too risky to bother.

If the seller knew what he was selling and the medal is kosher there's no way it would be sold for £195 or even £400 for that matter.
Just maybe you have got the bargain of the century, but then again........

He emailed me afterwards telling me he was a bit gutted that it sold for the price it did as 30+ people were watching it but he had posted it as an unresearched medal, but until it arrives I'm not counting too many chickens until I have it examined by an expert.  But I have a good collection of medals already incuding some Boer War ones that are confirmed genuine, one with a set of WW1 medals to the same person so I hope its the real deal.
