1851 census-West Malling, Kent
« on: Friday 18 March 05 06:12 GMT (UK) »
Looking for Elizabeth Randall- she would be 15 or 16yrs old-born West Malling. I have found her father Oliver Randall and some family living in Back Street on 1851 census. Unfortunately I only had access to a 2% Kent sample for West Malling and if some kind person has full access I'd be very grateful if you could see if she is lurking there also
Thank you
Leah

Hi Leah,
Have been through the 1851 census for West Malling, but I'm afraid I couldn't find Elizabeth living there. As you say, there are quite a few Randalls living in Back Street, including an Elizabeth aged 75 born Mereworth. All other Randalls found were born West Malling.
Where does she next turn up. I'm happy to look through some other local parishes if you have any more leads.
xx Carol.

Hi Carol

That's absolutely brilliant of you to find the Randall family on the 1841 census- more than I could have dreamed of!
Elizabeth Randall was to become my great great grandmother. She married my great great grandfather at St. Botolphs, Northfleet in 1855. Her father is shown as a bootmaker on the marriage certificate so we do have the right family. Where she was for the 1851 census remains a mystery- could be anywhere in London or Kent- I really don't know.
Thank you so very much for your help
Brgds, Leah

Hi Oliver Randall was my great, great, great grandfather. I am related to him through his son Henry Randall. Olivers parents were Henry Randall and Mary around 1757 and his grandparents were Henry and Elizabeth at start of 1700s. I have not been able to trace Elizabeth either after 1841
