Hmm - I'm not having much luck tracing Annie forward in time so far.

If she'd stop moving counties, that would help, lol!

No, quite, it's turning out to be difficult to find her...

What about Tom? He appears alive in 1891; is he still there in 1901? I have no idea if he married/died young/emigrated... No one in the family certainly knows anything about a "uncle Tom"... When I'm next in England I'll certainly have a snoop around Colwall cemetery

Yes, Tom is still "to the fore" in 1901! In fact, he's back with his parents, who seem to have the modern problem of getting rid of their children!!

A quick look at later census index shows the same family constitution - John and Jane made it much too comfortable for those children!

I have a note saying Ada Allen married a Mr George John Francis in 1893 and had three children, so they'd be included in the 1901 census. Can you check if there is a Mrs Ada Francis in 1901 born iN Colwall? As she isn't at home in 1901 I'd presume she was elsewhere or had married, and this Mrs Francis might be her... Just a thought.

Any clue as to whether Tom Allen married after 1901?

Ada Mary, born 1869, possibly married Mr Francis.
Ellen Jane, born 1870, may have married in 1906 according to FreeBMD.
Rose Fanny, born 1872; one source says she passed away in 1955; she seems to have remained single.
William John (1876-1960), my great-grandfather.
Maria Annie (1876-1877), William's twin.
Thomas (1878), still alive in 1901, but no idea if he married or died single...

As there are no other Ada Marys who married a George John Francis in the area at the time and no other Ada Marys born in Colwall at the time I'd presume this is Ada Mary Allen we're talking about. So great. I'll try to trace her children, see if they've had descendants.

Fabulous work. The other sisters seem to have remained spinster by the look of things. I wonder why they married relatively so old (the ones who did marry)?
