It might be a good idea to see if you can trace him in any census. But you would really need a first name and the initial or initials of his first name are hard to decipher.

My late father in law was named Burnley, on this post the word has two "tall" letters not one, I would say remembering how the word Burnley looked when written it is most unlikely, sticking with Buckley.
