Hi all,
Ah, good finding Judith.
Definitely this Bridget is not the missing one
She seems to be, as you say, a coincidence of names and location.
Mmm... More thinking needed
Sue
Thank you everyone for your help.
As Sue has said this Irish family is very confusing as they all seem to have the same names repeated for each gen. Bridget , Patrick, Thomas, Mary, Catherine, Honora, James .
I have just been going over all the paper work for this family and have a copy of a document where Thomas the convict requests the the Government give free passage to his wife and children this letter is dated 18 July 1836 this is 13 years prior to the arrival of his children. The letter states and this is where I get confused ;
"Convicts family wife Mary Helion alias Daly 48yrs eldest child Patt Helion 25 yrs his wife Bridget Helion alias Keating, under 25 years- Honor Helion, Darby Helion, Thomas Helion and Mary Helion aged 9 yrs youngest child.
So I checked Irish names and Darby is a male name so did they "nickname" Bridget -Darby or do I have an extra child to look for.
Darby is placed in the letter where Bridget should be so........................any suggestions.
Any input on this very confusing family will be greatly appreciated.
Kindest regards
HS
