Edwards or Price connected to Braddick/Bennett and Lock

I have a Harriett Edwards/Price born in Shropshire  in the  1830's in the book Collecting Folk-Melodies in Herefordshire  by Ella Leather she  states  Harriett  married a John Jones in Newtown John was born in Tredegar Monmouthshire on one of her sons birth certs who was born in Newtown in 1876 Harriet gives her maiden name as Price but in the book its says she could of been an Edwards, Does anyone recognize these names as Harriett  and John  are my Great Grandparents two of there daughters married into the Braddick/Bennett family from Pontesbury Shropshire, while two sons married  Bishop girls and there mother was Sabra Bishop nee Lock daughter of Ezekiel and Amy.

As far as I know his stepdad was John jones .my fathers name was Robert Llewelyn Taylor-braddick and I think his mothers name was either olive or Alice .

[My Summary:] Wellington SHR, 9 June 1873, Moses BRADDICK, chm.swp (also described as a trav’g knf.gr), found guilty of stealing a donkey on 22 July 1872; 3 months hard labour. Witnesses included Francis SHEVLIN, Reece John PUGH, Stephen BENNETT & Ellen BRADDICK. Also mentioned is Rabbi JONES or PRICE. All somehow related to the Moses.

In the following census entries Harriet’s birthplace is given as ‘Ketley/Wellington SHR’ and she was born about 1838 to 1841.

Since Harriet JONES was from Ketley and her maiden surname was PRICE the indications are that she was a descendant of Henry PRICE (snr) who, the folklore says, was a gorgio shoemaker from Ketley nr Wellington. Examples follow:

The above baptism at Long Stanton refers to a younger Harriet who can be seen, age 9, in the following:

In my analysis Ella Leather was mistaken. The name EDWARDS should read FLORENCE. Here is Harriet’s baptism:

Harriet FLORENCE/PRICE was baptised at least 20 times; 16 times as FLORENCE and four as PRICE. Her father was George FLORENCE of Burton on Trent STF who arranged for about half of his eleven children to be repeatedly baptised across several counties (about 60 ceremonies). Harriet’s mother was Lucy (bc1810) daughter of Henry & Eleanor PRICE of Ketley. She appears in 1871 as the sister of Robert PRICE whose baptism is included above:

Since some of the FLORENCE/PRICE children were baptised many times, because their father knew how to take advantage of the generosity of the ladies of the congregation, and bearing in mind that Harriet took the brunt of these baptisms, it might reasonably be assumed that she was an attractive baby.

Sabra had a daughter Gertrude who married Alfred Jones son of Harriet and John. Gertrude and Alfred are my great grandparents. Harriet was a Florence Price before she married.
