Missing Bolton
« on: Sunday 21 February 10 16:29 GMT (UK) »
I have a 4th GGrandfather b abt 1740 in Market Harborough died abt 1827 in Great Bowden

He married a Mary Baily on 10 Dec 1775 at Great Bowden. They had three children William b 1776, George b 1781 and Mary b 1794.

I am unable to find any details of his Christening or parents. Does anyone with a bit more experience have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks

Hi

If you have obtained this information from the IGI you will see it is submitted (as opposed to extracted).  I would wonder how the submitter knows where he was born as I would imagine he died prior to census records. A marriage if it shows anything at this time would only be place of abode at time of marriage and not where born.

It would probably be advisable to see the marriage entry to verify what it says.

Submitted entries should always be treated with caution.  ???

Hello and welcome to RootsChat
I am afraid that i have not got a lot further with this line, the only other info that I have is that William b 1739, his parents might be William b 1720 and Susannah b 1720, but, as yet I have not found any proof either way.

Regards  Steve
