Looking for Parents
« on: Tuesday 23 February 10 23:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi,I'm looking for the parents of Julia Ann Topham born 3rd quarter 1852 in Warrington,(Free BMD Volume 8C Page 120).She married a William Henry Wray in December 1870 in Salford (Free BMD Volume 8D Page 280) and went on to have six children, one of which was my Grandmother on my Father's side (Georgina Wray b1887).I have tried IGI with no success, and do not have a subscription with Ancestry,so any help with parents and/or siblings names would be greatly appreciated.Thanking you in anticipation.
Brian Carter.

Cheshire BMD shows a marriage in 1853 at St Mary & St Nicholas Nantwich between Joseph Topham and Mary Lunt but it was "after the event" if it's the right one as Julia was b 1852

Hi Suz

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?  Illegitimate daughter of Mary??

1851 shows Joseph as Mary's brother - he is 17 b Macclesfield

In 1871 - Julia is with "uncle" Joseph aged 34 b Macclesfield

that's exactly what I was thinking Carole!

But there's a big difference in ages from 1851-61????
