I see these are submitted entries in the LDS   Pedigree Resource File, and the International Genealogical Index
The advice is to ignore like the plague those entries which use the word "About", since these are dangerously misleading, and notoriously unreliable. Parish Registers did not start until 1538, so it would be interesting to know where this information comes from.

Perhaps an Inq Post Mortem?  I think they sometimes use that format for date of death.

But I would be reaching for the salt bucket too.  This is into the time when manorial records - in Latin - and the like are going to be your primary sources.  And they can be quite vague or inconsistent about women's names at that time, unless she was a major heiress.

I have been getting help from another person working the same line as I am. And the information is on Family search.org as well.

I do have a few question on this time line 1300 to 1400.

There are a few that have Leitenaunt's and Captain's in the
line, and with the same person they would have Castle in brackets.
Eg:  Leitenaunt William Marvin (Castle)

What does this mean?

Or i have found names that look like this
SIR Thomas Marvin (Castle) Notthingham, England

What does this all mean?

Sorry, I forgot to say, that when you are looking up
information on family search around 1300 to 1400,
Alot of dates are out by 10 to 15 years.
I watch closely when Im looking and make sure
dates would match up. Because you cant have a 8 year old girl having babies with a 55 year old. And I have come across
things like that, so thats why I say about.

For that era the LDS site is about as unreliable as you can get.

Check the archives on Soc.Genealogy.Medieval - there's a pedigree at http://groups.google.co.uk/group/soc.genealogy.medieval/browse_thread/thread/9bd52074a78eabcd/f1d61919c07cff9a?lnk=gst&q=marvin+bentley#f1d61919c07cff9a

I beleive the Roger Marvin that you have started with is Roger from Ipswich. I have never been able to find a connection with him and the Marvins at Ramsey. If you have one i would love to know. I am descended from the Copdock Marvens of Suffolk of which i beleive Roger is one. These Marvens or Marvins were widespread in the Ipswich/Copdock/Washbrook area at the time . I am descended from them .There was a Roger Marven in Copdock about 1276. The only place to get names and dates is from the old wills etc that they left.
