Westereligh or Coalpitheath
« on: Saturday 27 February 10 22:18 GMT (UK) »
Looking for Tovey in Westerleigh or Coalpitheath. My ancester William Tovey was born 1808 in Westerleigh to prob John and Eliz but by 1841 was in Monmouthshire. Am I stuck? William's parentage is only an age asumption on the few burial names for westerleigh  I can get on the internet.

Carolyn,

If you go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true enter just the surname Tovey; the Region and Country in the appropriate boxes and C172661 in the Batch Number box then hit Search you will be given some info extracted fro Westerleigh's church records.

I have not checked for your names so you'll find it interesting to DIY :D

Regards

Chas

P.S.  That's another batch not in the Hugh Wallis site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyGloucester_(N-Z).htm#W  I'll add it to my list in Resources.     C

Thanks very much. Looks like my William Tovey was born 1808 to John and Elizabeth. There's Hordes of them! All I need now is someone with MIs for the area! Or OPRs giving details of the marriage of John Tovey to Elizabeth?

There are Toveys on B&AFHS.org burial indexes.   For some  reason it won't let me post the link on here.
