the marriage for John is Llanelli, same batch as the one for Ann Oldham. John gives his place of birth as Llanelly in later census entries. 1861 has father-in-law Edward Rees visiting, solooks like the correct family.

John bp 1830 is enumerated in 1851 as nephew to Edward & Ann Hughes HO107/2460 folio 374 pg 31 Aberdare
Ann was born Llanedy and there's a possible marriage of an Ann David to Edward Hughes 26/1/1827 in Llangennech. The eldest Hughes son is named Anthony so wonder if the name came from the David side.

1861 John is back with mother.
6 Inkerman Tce, Swansea RG9/4104 folio 30 pg 6
Mary Bowen head widow 54 formerly dairy maid b. Carms, Llanedy
John Oldham son unm 32 mason b. Carms, Llanelly
William Oldham son unm 29 mason b. Llanelly
Richard Oldham son 17 unm mason b. Glam, Swansea

Richard looks to have been wrongly ditto-ed as he should be Bowen.
