Frederick Llewellyn HUMPHREYS 1911**Completed ... as much as we can!***

Hello all.  I am looking for info on Frederick Llewellyn Humphreys.  On the 1911 census, he is listed at school in Eton, Buckinghamshire.

I am trying to locate the school and to see if there are any student records left.

Don't know if it is the posh Eton school or another grammar school in the area.  I am in Canada and not familiar with the area.

Any help is grately appreciated!

Have you viewed the 1911 entry as it will show the address of the school on the transcript.  It will also show the sub-district which may help to trace it

I suspect it may well be THE Eton College

District: Eton
Enumeration District: 9
County: Buckinghamshire
Subdistrict: Burnham

So, no real address to check up on ....

What's his birthplace in the census? If local then it's probably not Eton College

I would say it is definitely not Eton College as the address you give is Burnham sub District.  Eton Registration District was divided into three sub Districts - Burnham, Eton and Iver.  Eton College would be in the Eton sub District.

Now, all I need to find is the school in Burnham district! 

Freddy's birth is Thornton Heath, Surrey - so he was a boarder.

Are these two areas far from each other?

Is there a directory or something available that I could look thru to find boarding schools in the Burnham area in 1911?

Kelly's Directory of 1907 lists a Grammar School in Taplow, Bucks, Rev. Alfred W. BATCHELOR, M.A., D.C.L., principal.  Taplow is in the Burnham sub District of Eton Registration District so I am sure this is the correct place.  Unfortunately there are no records of this school deposited at the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies in Aylesbury.
