1851 Cuckfield census lookup please

Please can anyone help me find...
Robert Harding, born 1841 in Cuckfield. Father's name is Charles (place of birth unknown).  I'm sorry I have no other information on Robert, except that he should be aged about 10 and living in Cuckfield in 1851. I have Robert from 1871 onwards  and would love to fill in the gaps!

Not in my 1851 index for Cuckfield as Harding but there is a Robert Harden age 9 with father Charles.

Sounds like the right lot!   Slaugham is very close too.

Yes this does sound like the right family... I have Robert's marriage certificate and he was married at Staplefield. I hadn't realised it was so close to Cuckfield... brilliant!

I have books of indexes for a lot of Sussex!   The SFHG sell  transcriptions.   I also have the 1861 but that is on CD and does does take some time to search.
