Friends,
just a little update, both, Archibald and Margaret Kesley Miller died in 1926, and were the propieters of the hotel, their son Hugh K  and his wife Louisa Walker took over ,Hugh died in 1974, and Louisa in1983, their daughter Janet K Miller ran the hotel until retirement, she died in 2007, I would appreciate a picture, if there are any headstones.
Thank You

Hi, interested to read this. I am the great granddaughter of Helen Lesley Miller who is the sister of Hugh Kelsey Miller. I was at the Ellangowan Hotel today. It looks abandoned now. I realise this is an old post but if there is anymore information regarding the family, I'd love to hear from you.

Hi Jill - I'm Roger Cope and my wife and I bought Bayview - the house that your family owned in Creetown - in December '21. We had a friend look into the history of the place and as a result know a little about your family. The neighbours all have very fond memories of Janet and have told us many stories of her time in the house and running the Ellangowan. She is much loved within the village.

We were wondering when Bayview and the Ellangowan became linked? Our friend believes the house was owned by other people through the 40s and 50s although the Ellangowan was being owned/managed by your family from the 20s, I believe.

I am sorry to say that the Ellangowan closed during the Covid lockdown and both it and Bayview were owned by by a gentleman whose finances collapsed as a result of the pandemic. We purchased the house from his creditors who had taken possession but we believe he still is negotiating with his creditors over the fate of the Ellangowan.
