My brother lived in Waverton and now Guildon Sutton so we go through Christleton a lot when we are down, (I learnt to swim in Christleton school pool). That house looks very familiar

I don't know if I am coming to this a bit late, but I've just noticed photos of our house in Christleton as part of the thread on the Police House.
It is true that we now live in the Old Police House', but this could only date from about 1955, when the Woodfields houses were built.  We bought this house in 1984, when it became redundant as a police house.  So the Police House in 1935 must be different.  Hope this helps.

Hi Benric,
No it doesn't help at all! :)
The man I am searching for info about has it in his police records that that is the house that he lived in and worked from between 1925 and 1935!  So I don't know what to think now.  I will have to get back to the Museum of Policing in Cheshire and try and sort it out.

Below is what I was sent:

Other Postings and Dates. 22nd May 1910 New Ferry, 1st September 1915 Ellesmere Port, 1st May 1920 Great Boughton, 01 October 1925 Christleton.
With regard to these postings, the only individual police station that I cannot pinpoint is within Great Boughton, which is basically the area surrounding Chester and it could have been a police house i.e. a family home with a Station attached to it. I have attached photographs of New Ferry Police Station, Ellesmere Port and the one I think you will be very pleased with is Christleton, which in essence was a rented cottage for use by the officer and his family, but also used as a Police Station.

But thank you for your interest - must have been a shock seeing your house!
Regards,
Abiam2

Have just received an email from the police museum and the gentleman has had a really good look and now thinks they are 2 different houses. I wondered that when I first received them.
Evidently the old picture in the snow has the sign above the door with a Victorian crown on it.  It would interesting to find out where it was,
