I'm looking for George Simmons (sometimes spelled Simmonds), born approximately 1818-1820 in Edgmond.  Also his parents - his father is also named George Simmons or Simmonds (as per the son George's marriage certificate dated Feb 7, 1853).  Not sure if the son George would be living with his parents (age 21 or so).

George (Jr) is listed as a widower on the 1853 marriage certificate, and I believe his first marriage was in 1844 to Sarah Treavor.  If there is a listing for Treavor in the 1841 census showing a daughter Sarah born approximately 1821 in Stoke, I would appreciate that too.

Hi Cardiff,
Thank you very much for that info.  When you get a chance, would you mind checking for any George Simmonds in the 1841 census, approx. 21 yrs. old and likely living around Edgmond.  His father was also George Simmonds or Simmons and I don't know the mother's name, but would love to locate them.  I certainly would appreciate your help.  I seem to be stuck on that spot.

I'm trying to follow another lead on the other side of the family....In the 1841 and 1851 census reports for Thomas and Elizabeth Bowen, is there a widow Jane living with them?  (approx. 70 yrs old in 1851 and 60 yrs old in 1841).  She was born in Kerry Montgomeryshire according to the 1861 census.

I wonder where the Simmons family was in 1841?  My father-in-law said his family originally came from Ireland to Lancashire and then Shropshire, so maybe it was during that generation....hmmm....

Regarding Simmonds family finding it difficult to find them .There are  few George Simmonds, what was the occpation of the  2 george's on the marriage certificate that might help.
