1851 census lookup please - Cruse
« on: Monday 21 March 05 16:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Would somebody mind looking up the following:

Thomas Cruse born 1823 Chailey
Mary Ann or Ann born either 1828 or 1838, possibly Albourne or Worthing
probably no children, should be living in Chailey

Also if it is not too much bother could you check if there are any other Cruse's in the Chailey area in 1851/1861 particularly a William or Richard and any possible elderlys who could be parents.

Thank you

Thanks Andrea

I am gradually finding this family, who originally appeared to only have 4 children, having a whole lot more.

I think Richard could be Thomas's father but I need to prove that.  So thank you

I assumed that Samuel was Thomas' dad and Richard was the grandad!   He has certainly named a child Samuel - usually a reliable clue.   Parish records next?

Andrea

Yes sorry, I missed that!  I am awaiting Thomas's marriage certificate so hopefully will confirm his father and his wife's real name - she interchanges it with the weather.   :) :) :)  Incidentally if I have ordered the correct marriage cert they had two children before they married!

I have just been searching for the children that were mentioned on the 1851 census which don't occur on 1861 or later, both Mary Ann and Elizabeth died in June 1859 so have ordered certs.  Sad!

They had a later child Richard in 1854 who died a year later.  Very sad.

Thanks again  kerryb
