Hi anyone searching for the family of Robinett. I have a little information I would like to share on this name in Wicklow.

John Robinett & Bridget Murphy of Wicklow married 1849 in Wicklow Catholic Parish, witnessed by Matt Merrigan and Jane Merrigan. I have a list of 9 of their children baptised in Wicklow.

Griffiths Valuation was taken around the 1850, which is just about when your John Robinett married.  There are 7 Robinett families recorded - but none in Wicklow.  Mostly Waterford, a couple in Offaly and one in Cork.

Wonder if you should be looking outside Wicklow for the origins of John Robinett.

There is a John ROBNET born in 1800 in Wicklow Town on IFHF site. Father's name Thomas. He might be a bit old for your John but may be related.

The Irish Ancestor, Vol. XVII, No. 1, 1985 had an article on Edward Bacon who became Curate of Clonmel, Tipperary.  Listed in his Registry amongst other names is a:-

Robert Robinett, son of William & Mary, 15 Nov 1787.

  A big family in co. Wicklow a guess the community had a big protestant community.
