« on: Thursday 18 March 10 08:38 GMT (UK) »
I am not familiar with this squiggle, that appeared in a 1710 Will.

Can someone tell me what is it short for?

The first image I translate as;
remainder & remainders,
his heires Executors Administrators or

The squiggle appears to be short for "er".

The second image I translate as;
halfe ffulland and premisses within

The squiggle appears to be short for "re".

The above examples are repeated within the will.

Regards
Grantley

I think that you are right.  That particular superscript is usually associated with the "er" sound being omitted but as you found can involve other syllables also being omitted.
