1891 census for Robert and Sarah Porter

The births I quickly found on ancestry are for the following children
Adam Porter b. 8 May 1878 West Gwilliimbury
Esther Mary b. 14 Mar 1886 Lot 13 Con 8 West Gwillimbury
Elisabeth Ann b. 26 Aug 1887 as above
Nellie Marie b. 21 July 1890 Bradford - This was a late birth registration filled out by Sarah Porter on August 21, 1922 at Stonewall Manitoba.

Online family tree that traces the children of James and Delilah and also her parents.  What it doesn't do is trace James' lineage.

5 references to Porters
Oliver was a witness to a marriage, John and James were witnesses and William married.
Control F opens a search box that makes the Porter references easy to find.

Here's a picture of the headstone with the grass and dirt pulled back. I think the last letter is a Y even though it looks like a U. I think it might be Derry. It says Native of Co ....... y

His year of death is 1864

Same name ...might be coincidence but this site has an Oliver Porter -  Welland 1824 - land petition
same year John was born....http://www.ontariogenealogy.com/uppercanadalandpetitions/p_landpetition.html

So Oliver2 was a grandchild of Oliver, then?

http://www.bytown.net/porter.htm  This site has John as Born 1829 Tyrone County, Ireland....I imagine taken from marriage age, as the censuses show him as much older  ;D...You might ask where they got the information for Tyrone. Also says a Henry Porter of Ottawa was witness to the wedding. http://www.bytown.net/byrnesjohnml142.htm

Thank you for your note J.J.

Unfortunately this Oliver doesn't fit into my tree!

My grandmother is a great or great great granddaughter to James & Delilah Porter (On her fathers side) I would also like to know if anyone has found out where in Ireland they came from (if they did come from there) I never knew that!! :)
