Burial Lookup - McLean/Thomas (COMPLETE)
« on: Sunday 28 March 10 02:08 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I'm told my gggg grandfather William McLean was buried in Terregles in the grave of Robert Thomson.  His wife and her mother would also be there.  The only date I have relating to him is that he married Katherine Edmondson in 1802, she was 17. So according to the maths she was born in 1784ish. But I have no record to prove it.

If anyone can shed some light on this that would be amazing.  I have no idea if there was a headstone, and if so if it would still be there or not.

Cheers,

Claire

Hi Clare.
My index for Terregles has a William McLean mentioned in the MI for Robert Thomson. My notes say he died Dumfries 10th March 1828. It also has his wife Catherine Edmondson, born Preston July 1773, died 17 Feb 1832. And her mother Elizabeth Sharples or Edmondson born 1739 and died 17th Dec 1820. I don't have a full transcript, but hope this helps.
