Thanks again...you guys are keeping me busy...but no luck so far.

My wife's grandfather, and possibly his father as well, was in the merchant marines. So, in the 1911 census his name, Patrick, doesn't appear with that of his wife, Honora and eldest son, Michael who are living with her mother and father...which made for some confusion initially.

A question...a funeral home card for my wife's grandfather as well as a death certificate I found lists his place of death as Carrigane Cottage, Carrigtwohill. Does anyone know if Carrigane Cottage is an address or a separate town/village?
Carrigane is a townland in Carrigtwohill so Carrigane Cottage is a dwelling in this area. You could look at Church records for Carrigtwohill which are very clear at www.registers.nli.ie

Hello MCGR23, I believe your wife is my cousin. My grandfather was Richard Fitzgerald, elder brother to her grandfather Patrick. My father was Richard's youngest son.
Our cousin in Ireland has put together a nice genealogy booklet if you're interested.

My greatgrandfather was John Fitzgerald, he worked in the railway station in Carrigtwohill in the late 1800s and eventually became station master in Little Island in the early 1900s. He married Johanna Barry in Carrigtwohill in 1874. He died in 1928 and is buried with his wife and son's family in Carrigtwohill cemetery

Just posting links to an earlier post reply.
