I can also tell you that his second marriage was on 12th Sept 1979.
His mothers name was Ada Frier.

I know also know my brothers/my fathers first wives first name, and that she lived in Lestershire.

I think this thread has gone as far as it can (further?) without breaking rules.

If you can help, please reply by PM.

There's a general guide to finding living people here:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,261434.0.html

I'll leave the thread open for the time being but any abuse will cause it to be locked or removed.

Thanks.

Hello, im basically in the same boat. I have very limited info on my half brother. Our father passed away 30 years ago. He wasnt married to my brothers mother at the time. I only know his mothers first name and his first name. Also im not even sure if my father and his mother were ever married. I do know that he was adopted to his mothers new husband. Again no info on the new guy. Also im from the US. I believe this all happened in Iowa. My father was married two times that I know of for sure. I know most important info on my father except for this area of my half brother. He would be older then me by at least 5 years if not more. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Welcome Rooberry

The info is found in the same way as prior and only then if you are lucky.

As your Father sadly is long since departed you can post his full name, birth date and death date and we can see if we can help.

USA Records are not the easiest to locate and to identify.

Over here in the UK generally an unmarried Woman will only have her name on the Birth Certificate unless the Father was present at the Registrar's Office

Welcome to Rootschat  :)
Actually, lots of U.S. records are online but what's available varies by state. Here's a bit about Iowa vital records- Family Search is free to search but you just have to register and log in-

Also im not even sure if my father and his mother were ever married.
If your mother and father married then it's likely their marriage record would list his status (single or divorced) and possibly how many previous marriages he had. It might also be worth making a note of his address & occupation sinec they might help track him back to previous residences in places like city directories, newspaper articles and voting lists.

Social security records may also give clues as to where (and when) your father was throughout his adult lifetime. There will be a fee to obtain details but I'm not sure of current costs and rules regarding them.
You can search the death index here to get his SS #- https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1202535
