So if she was Ann Parrish ,then it's likely that William and Mariah are her niece and nephew rather than hubby's?

Will try for 1861 now with new ref number  ;D

Have been studying the family in 1851

What is the problem ? Have I done my usual and missed something?

Why cant Elizabeth Parish be mother in law to the head of house (Eijah Gold), therfore mother to his wife, Ann Gold nee Parrish, who in turn is sister to Thomas Parish and Aunt to William Parish?

I think the problem is that it was hoped the mother of Thomas (and therefore, perhaps, Ann) PARRISH was an Ann (married to a James) per the 1818 Staffs baptism mentioned in the original post.

william was born in stourbridge 1845.
and thomas and ann lived in kingswinford in 41, they had a daughter Maria aged 2. who is living with aunt ann in 51 along with william.
Thomas and Ann in 1840 in dudley and worcester but again the 41 census is the only i can find, tho i could be wrong x

On thomas's birth only one i can find that ties in with age on family search, his mother is Ann.
So i'm thinking somethings wrong somewhere because according to census Ann Gold (nee parrish) mom is elizabeth.

The connection being, William is son of Thomas, Nephew of Ann.  Therefore Thomas and Ann brother and Sister?   But according to this different moms??

Thanks, I knew I would havemissed something.

But the baptism is only a 'possible' at present, and even if it is the right one there are all sorts of scenarios to explain it- Carol has hit on one, maybe Elizabeth was James's second wife and actually a stepmum to Ann and Thomas. Or maybe she was Elizabeth Ann and rung the changes from time to time.

You mention Family Search doubleRR,not all parish records are on there of course.

So don't assume that you have found your family, just because you've found one that might fit.

Have you tried any parish records on http://www.freereg.org.uk/ at all ?

But remember IGI is not complete.
Ann gives her pob as Kingswinford - is that where this Thomas baptism is?
Is there one for Ann?

(ooh Carol great minds and all that!)
