Can anyone look at the Parish Records for the Birth of John Boardman in Bolton 1834
His mother is Lucy Boardman, would be interested if his Father is named.

I have seen the M/C on Anc. where John names his Father as James Seddon.
This is what I have found and hopefully I am not going over what you already know.

I think this is John with his Maternal Grandparents in 1841

Christening;

Parents, JEFFREY Boardman and ELLEN

Lucy BOARD/HM/MAN married John YATES, Sptember 1840, Bolton, 21 91

John Boardman, aged 17, Stepson, appears with them in the 1851 Census

1841 Census John and Lucy Yates are living next door to her Parents and her Son John.
I does not help with finding Johns Father but as no Trees I can find have this info I hope this is a help to you.
It appears to me he was illegitimate and you are lucky he named his Father on the M/C

Lucy and Johns Marriage is on Lancs OPC;
07 September 1840, St John the Evangelist, Farnsworth with Kearsley
Father , Jeffrey Boardman, Weaver
She was a Spinster of Queen St Farnworth
