I am interested in any information on Handleys who were in charge of mills in and around the Aberedw area 1790 - 1900 please.  Any help or useful suggestions would be very welcome.  Thank you.      John CH.

Kelly's Directory of Mon, & S.Wales 1895 -

Handley P. (Mrs) miller (water) &corn & flour merchants, Priory and Honddu flour mills
Handley and Son, millers, Nantyrarian
Handley, Alfred, miller (water) New Mill, Maesmynis

Slater's Directory Glos, Herefs, Mon, Shrops & Wales 1868

Handley, Richard, Priory Mill
Handley Saul, Court Mill, Aberedw

Thank you, Martyn, for your reply.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. What a very good age though. This is typical of many of our last generation Handleys. 6 out of 7 survived well into their 90s! You are certainly related to me and our common ancestor is Samuel Handley, born Herefordshire in 1756. Theopholus Handley is in my study. All very interesting to discover. JohnCH.

Hi John
My Father Phillip ( we are in Cambridgeshire) and Alison H ( I think from Manchester did a detailed research back to 1699 Richard and Mary Hanley in Herefordshire.   Have you seen this?
I am new to this so I am not certain how to contact you direct securely not on the forum.
Regards
