Hi All

I have a family of Shaw's in W.A that originated in Victoria.
Went and had a look yesterday at the death notices for the parents and it states there are another 2 sons that i don't have.
John Shaw C 1870
Theodore James C 1898
Parents Edward Shaw and Jessie McClure
John Shaw might be under the mothers name as it was 4 years before they married
Could someone please look and see if they can fiind births in Vic for me.

This is the only Theodore b. 1898 in Victoria.  Do you have a Christina SHAW in your family?  I notice that Magnus b. 1888 to Edward and Jessie, was born Longwarry.  The birth below is in the right area.

Father Unknown  Mother Christina SHAW
At Longwarry   1897   Reg#12441

Perhaps Theodore's mother was this Christina but raised by her parents as their own.

Thankyou very much for looking that up for me.
Yes there is a Christina Shaw in the family.
I think she married John Joseph Hooper just before they came over to Western Austrlaia.
It all seems to fit in.Thankyou once again for looking this up.

I can't see a marriage n Victoria for Christina to HOOPER.
The only marriage :

There is one mariage SHAW/HOOPER in WA

HOOPER, CHARLES PERCIVAL to SHAW, ELLEN AMELIA at PERTH  reg. 1334 in 1901

Here is a SHAW , CHRISTINA marriage in WA

SHAW, CHRISTINA E to LANGLANDS JAMES E at  BOULDER reg. 90  in 1910

Thanks for looking for the marriage for me,but it seems as though they might not have got around to marrying.
The first birth recorded in W.A for Christina & John Hooper is 1904 in  Donnybrook.
So Christina must have married between 1897 & 1904 if it happened.
Maybe coming over to W.A they never got around to it.
The family was in the South West of WA they were all involved in the timber industry.

Hi Sue,
Theodore Shaw - born 1897 is My Grandfather!
His mother was Christina Shaw. Father unknown.
Christina & Theodore along with Christina’s parents came to WA around 1906. Noggerup Area.
Can you help with anymore info?
