Frati or Frate family on Philadelphia ship list
« on: Wednesday 14 April 10 20:25 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can someone please do some look ups for me please?  I can see the following on the Philadelphia Ship list but am unable to access it.

Elisabetta Frati
Rose Frati
Luisa Frati
Caterina Frati
Possibly Luz Frati
Or any other Fratis.

I'd love to know what it says about them.

Also, Paride Frati on the Boston Passenger Lists who should be Elisabetta's husband.

He is also on the World War 1 Registration Cards

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks Erato, that's brilliant.  Elizabeth is actually English but they have put her down as Italian for some reason.  She is on the New York Passenger List and also the Philadelphia Passenger list.  Are these two different lists?

Also just found Paris (Paride) Frate (Frati) in the Chalmers Biographical Dictionary and also the Massachusetts City Directory and also the U S City Directories.  Can anyone find any of these for me please?

Regards

Hi Erato,

Thanks for all the information.  Not sure about Paride now as the date of birth is different.  My Paris Frate(i) was born 1878 it seems according to the census.  However, Lucca seems to fit as his wife and children travelled from there.   And Paris and Paride have been put together on various items so I assumed it was the same person.

1914 seems a long time for Paris to have travelled to the US leaving his family behind for so many years.  Still, perhaps they had to do that in order to get work.

I shall have to apply for the marriage certificate now of which I have the details as they married England.

Thanks again for your very kind help.

Regards

Hi Erato,

Me again.  I've just noticed your earlier reply which proves that Paris and Paride must be the same person as the mother is the same - Barbara (not Papera) Frati and the address is the same: Villa Roggio in Lucca.  Just a large discrepancy in Paris's age now!

You have been such a great help to me!

Kind regards

Diana
