Thanks, my Frati entry on the tree is looking very Italian/American now!  It's all coming together.

That doesn't look like one of the girls unfortunately.  I have a feeling they must have gone back to Italy or something.  The trail goes cold from here on!  Still, I have learnt a lot tonight so thank you once more!

Hello Diana and Erato My great-grandfather Giovanni Agide Oreste Frati was older brother of Giovanni Paride Frati, born in Villa a Roggio, province of Lucca.

Hi, Mauro - Welcome to RootsChat.  I hope DCS will check in soon and find your reply.  I myself have no connection to the Frati family

Ciao Mauro (and Erato)

I've just seen your message and I am so excited.  It is so good to hear from you and I think we are talking about the same person.  If so, we are related.  It is late now so I will send a proper message tomorrow.

Best wishes

Diana

Hello again Mauro,

I am so happy to have received your message.  The Frati family is on my family tree - well not mine but my husband's.  Paride Frati I have as being born 28 July 1877  in Vecchiano, Lucca.  He died in 1933.  He married Elizabeth Ann Speller in 1904 in West Ham, London (Essex in 1904).  Elizabeth was born Sept 1884 in Stratford (part of West Ham), London.  She died 9 April  1936.  They had Louisa Elizabeth born Sept 1904, West Ham, died 1904.  Catharina (Kate)  born 28 Oct 1908 Poplar, London, died 79924 El Paso, El Paso, Texas, Rosina (Rose) Mary b.March 1910 Poplar,  d.Nov 1971, Margaret born 10 Jan 1913 West Ham d.12 July 1972 Bangor, Franklin Counrty, New York, and Anita E b.1924 Luzerne, Pennsylvania, USA.  I have some marriages for some of the girls.  My husband is a Speller - Speller is my married name.  Elizabeth was sister to Frederick Joseph Speller born 1886 Plaisow, (part of West Ham) died 15 Oct 1916 in the war and is buried in Thiepval Cemetery, france.  Frederick was the great grandfather of my husband Michael.  I have some other bits of information too about the family.  Hope to hear back from you.  I am especially interested in this part of my husband's family tree as my mum was Italian, born in Naples 1929.  Dad was English.  I still have my cousins in Naples (San Sebastiano al Vesuvio) and I love everything there is about Italy.  I wondered how Paride came to West Ham where he met Elizabeth?  Best wishes Diana

Actually I got that wrong.  Frederick Joseph Speller was my husband's Grandfather (not Great Grandfather).

Hello Diana, for it is also a joy to communicate with you. We will investigate if we are talking about the same Paride (I was seeing that Vecchiano is in the province of Pisa, not Lucca) anyway it is close. I have some documents with family information that I would like you to see. We can communicate by facebook if you like it. My profile is https://www.facebook.com/mauro.frati
