MarMnkly - do you have a David Powell son of Richard Powell in your tree by any chance? David was born about 1815 in Llanspyddid & his father is shown as Richard on his marriage certificate in 1839. Cheers Eileen x

The marriage of David Powell to Catherine Williams took place at Vaynor church on 2nd December 1839. David's father is shown as Richard Powell, Farmer. Catherine is shown with a patronymic surname of Evan & her father as Evan Williams. On all her children's birth certificates she gives her name as Catherine Powell formerly Williams. Catherine was from Blaengwrach near Glynneath.

Since starting this thread I've discovered another older daughter for William Powell called Sarah, probably born between 1824-1828.
Lloyd (Ystumtuen, Llanfihangel y Creuddyn) Powell (Rhondda, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanspyddid) Yearsley (Monmouth, Ruardean) Faust (Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund & Waltersbrück/Bischhausen) Führen (Eschweiler, Duisburg and Kranenburg/Grafwegen)
