Hi andarah...another ex-Quebecer?? I didn't know there were any others on Rootschat
I needed some tourtiere spice mix. I had bought some in Loblaws the last time I was home and it was really good...finally ran out. Last Christmas I made a tourtiere from a recipe on the internet, and it was good, but it wasn't the same.
Some very kind Rootschatters tried to help...they searched supermarkets from Toronto to Nanaimo, but all they got was strange looks
I have been in touch with MontrealSA and she says she'll look the next time she's in Loblaws.
Cheers,
China
Yes, an ex-Quebecer.
Tortiere spice?? I have never heard of it. We make it with regular seasonings from the cupboard. Other Quebecers have tried my recipe and not been thrilled with it, but it's the traditional one in our family.
The thing I pick up when I am there is the St Hubert BBQ sauce packets. Walmart carries them now in western Canada.
Jay, how did you get the plot numbers? I have tried and had no success. I have over a hundred people to search for, so there is no way I am paying $5/search. It's cheaper to fly there and search myself. That's what I am doing now, but I would still rather have some information ahead of time to save myself time when I am there.
From what I recently discovered, there is a Catholic cemetery adjoining Mout Royal. That was surprising to me since my grandparents were very Catholic and in Mount Royal. Does anyone have information on searching the Catholic cemetery on the same hill?
