Here are photos of the Cape as it is now.  Front, back, front door and nameplate.  I suspect that it has been extended a few times. Once where the front is stepped back slightly and once where the roof level drops probably on the left side too and it more than likely started life as a window each side of the door - not uncommon in these parts.  By the way it is definitely NOT Tilston Green, that is the area around the Carden Arms and (now closed) Fox and Hounds.  The Horton sign is just before the Cape so I suppose it is offically in Horton but the council has funny ideas and most people in Tilston would say the Cape was too.  I pottered into the churchyard too but most 'Prices' were 1950's onwards although the majority of headstones are sandstone (because we are in that area) and do not wear well and are mostly illegible.  I can send pix of those modern ones if you want. Hope this helps.   Oh I can only attach 1 photo, I'll send the others separately. Tilstongal

Tilstongal,
Thank you very for the pictures they are very good  and will add a little more interest and finish off Herbert's story nicely.  Also I should have said that Herbert was buried in Chester and was born in Shropshire. But I will save them as with this research business you never know what will turn up!
Thank you once again and good luck with your research,
Abiam2
