The prices are fixed and announced in a S.I. (in a fees order) and as such are out of the control of the GRO.
They (GRO) only had about a months notice themselves.
The date is in line with the start of the financial year

4B 2M 4D certs ordered on 1 Apr with est dispatch of 9 Apr - 3B certs arrived yesterday (18 Apr), so 18 days.

1 Adoption cert ordered 6 Apr, est dispatch 13 Apr, arrived 15 Apr, so 9 days. 1M cert ordered same day not yet arrived.

1M cert ordered 17 Apr, est dispatch 23 Apr.

I wasn't blaming the GRO directly, Guy, but somebody somewhere made the decisions.

Well, that's you, but I sorted out and applied for what I wanted soon after I heard about the price increase, and had received them all by the middle of March. That left me time to order a couple of others as follow-ups.  Mind you, I didn't get any of them from the GRO!  ;)

They'll turn up in their own time.  No rush, if it wasn't for the price increase I wouldn't have ordered them yet anyway ;D ;D

The New NBI helped me locate the burial of my gt gt grandfather and wanted to found how he and his wife died at 48 and 42 when my gt grandfather was only 12 when his mother died and 19 when his father died.
