When a new Household starts the first person is down as HEAD eg

The image you have posted is the same as the 1871 Census I posted except James you have as age 33 and the image I have is 53.
Everyone else is the same.

Synopsis;
1841 Census;
James is with Elizabeth TURNER, no relationships shown

1851 Census;
James and brother Samuel are unmarried and living with their Mother Elizabeth who has remarried and become a Turner.
The 1827 marriage I have posted is a good possibility.
She has obviously been widowed again before 1841 Census

1871 Census;
James and Wife and children are living in Beeston Village.
On your image James is down as 33.
I have somehow missed off Thomas age 4mths.

I will look at all again and get back to you.

Do you have James' Marriage Cert and a childs Birth Cert to confirm Anns maiden name?

Hi Trish...nice to exchange info with you 
Guess my eyes aren't that bad! So 1841 & 1851 shows James with Elizabeth Turner and she had remarried prior to that ? That would be the 1827 date you posted? I have a reference from a different source that Elizabeth Turner was an Elizabeth Farmer age 73 [with the same line up we are apparantley looking at] Her birthplace is given as Spurstow. Thats the 1851 census with James at 39 and Samuel at 37.
Garstonite[yesterday] showed Samuel as a servant in the house of William Bird and I'm guessing Alfred Challinor might be his son working in James household. Do you think that jibes with the info. Answering your questions from yesterday : James wife Ann confirmed as Craven by birth cert.of child. Children in right order/none omitted. Do not have marr.cert James & Ann. James fathers name was Joseph 1763-1855 assume birthplace Beeston. I assume Beeston village to be a complex on the farm allotted to the employees...not in the Village of Beeston itself.

I just dont see Joseph being alive in 1855.
He does not appear on 1841/1851 Census.

For Elizabeth to be Samuel and James Mother ( as confirmed by Census) she must have remarried prior to 1841 Census where she appears as Elizabeth Turner.

From the info you have been given someone could have easily mixed up;

TURNER and FARMER for her Surname
THURSTON and SPURSTOW her place of birth

As you know census images are hard to read sometimes esp if you are not used to old handwriting.

WHERE are you garsonite/Allan a second opinion would be appreciated

DOES anyone have access to Beeston Parish Records or NBI for Josephs death please?
