A tree on ancestry shows George Scarff was married to Susan Brown from Essex with marriage ca.1840.    Have found possibly marriage listing in the September quarter of 1840 at Orsett, Essex where the couple are transcribed as Susannah Brown and George Scuff!

I think George's baptism is on the IGI shown as:

George Scarff bp.25/12/1817 Archdeaconry of Sudbury, Suffolk, son of George and Judith.   Archdeaconry was vast so bet this baptism was actually at Hunston.   George Scarff and Judith Marsh were married 8/9/1805 Norton, Suffolk.

Hi,
I think I'm working on the same line as you here, as my wife's family are, I think, descendents of this George Scarff, who moved to Liverpool and had a large family with Mary Jane Neil Bezant. Let me know if this agrees with your findings.
Best regards,
Gavin Thomas.

Present family circumstances mean that I am relatively inactive on genealogy at the moment, however it would appear that George and Mary Jane who were my great grandparents on my mothers side are the same ones that you are researching. The postings from diddymiller and Annette 7 are relevant as my copy of the birth certificate for George Scarff born 19/01/1845 lists parents as George and Susana (maiden name not listed)

Thank you I did not have the maiden name for Mary Jane

Best wishes
