Michaelson one name study
« on: Sunday 16 May 10 22:46 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know how I do this?

I understand there is a Society but am reluctant to sign up for that.

Basically you find and file every reference to the name Michaelson in every source you can find  :)

Do you intend to restrict your study to the UK? If so  I see that your one-name study will be a small one as there were only 42 Michaelsons in the 1881 census, distributed as shown on the map from the Surname Atlas (www.archersoftware.co.uk) shown below.
There were 221 people called Michaelson in the Office of National Statistics database, which contains a list of surnames in use in England, Wales and the Isle of Mann in September 2002.

Do you have a family history program where you can input your research?
