I have looked on FamilySearch Pilot site but there does seem to be quite a few Carl Lindstroms born in Sweden 1855-1860. Although I couldn't find any with the middle name Rudolf.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/ indexes the naturalisation records of Lindstrom, Carl Rudolf
I'd suggest asking the NA for a copy of these records; they may well say something about where in Sweden he came from.

That'll be my next step  :D I can see this guy costing me a fortune to trace! Hopefully it'll pay off though.

Got the marriage certificate!
His fathers name is Anders Gustav Lindström, and he was a marina. Would anyone be able to help me trace him  ???

Posted the link again but its not working properly,

If you click on databases and then type  in Carl for child and Anders Lindstrom for father then the date 1856- you should get the record I found. There is also a marriage for Anders to  Matilda Svenson, dont know if its your people for certain but... Do you know the District at all?

Found it :D.
I'm not to sure about the district.. The english census for Carl states he was from Stockholm,  so I don't really know. The Matilda Svenson/anders lindstrom seem to fit in date wise, and I googled the area and they were living and it was near the coast so that also fits in for a marina job. Carl worked on ships most of his life so I always assumed he must of lived somewhere near water, but as of yet I haven't been able to tie them parents to him.. :(

That Anders Lindstrom is listed as "waktmästare" (vaktmästare) which I believe translates as caretaker, no marine connection.

I think I've found them in the 1870 census at the Stockholm archives.

 (list of all the searches)
or go here: http://www2.ssa.stockholm.se/Register/BildMantalsregister.aspx and search Efternamn = Lindström and Förnamn = Anders G
You want the one who is listed as Sjöman (sailor) (click "2671")
Here's the PDF if you're having trouble finding him:
http://www3.ssa.stockholm.se/bildarkiv/egenproducerat/mantalsbok/M7014021313_150dpi.pdf
Sailor Anders Gustaf Lindström (Sep 8 1827)
wife and children including Charl Rudolf, b. 1856 Jan 13.

I think the birthplaces of the children other than the eldest, including Charl Rudolf, may read "Norrköping"
