COMPLETE - Epidemic - 1854 ?
« on: Wednesday 19 May 10 15:02 BST (UK) »
Would anyone know if there was an epidemic (or 2) around 1854 in Herts/Bucks?

There seems to have been a cholera outbreak around London in 1854 but was there any other outbreaks?

Thanks

Ray

Why are you asking?  Are you looking at a specific part of Herts/Bucks and a particular time in 1854?  (summertime seemed popular for local outbreaks of infection).

Chowns in Buckinghamshire
Broad, Eplett & Pope in St Ervan/St Columb Major, Cornwall
Browning & Moore in Cambridge, St Andrew the Less
Emms, Mealing & Purvey in Cotswolds, Gloucestershire
Barnes, Dunt, Gray, Massingham in Norfolk
Higho in London
Matthews & Nash in Whichford, Warwickshire
Smoothy, Willsher in Coggeshall & Chelmsford, Essex

Hi

I like your summer observation.

"You can’t give kindness away.  It keeps coming back". Mark Twain (?).

Yes I like that observation.

It's just that we found a family of 5 where 4 died in same year (in LittleGiddings NOT Herts)
Then similar in Hertford.

Just wondered, in case ..............

Thanks
