Joseph Albert Bell b 1899

I have been trying to track down my Wife's Grandfather and family to no avail :

Joseph Albert Bell, b 3 Sept 1899 Gateshead.   His father is William and mother Ann (nee Coyne)  (from his birth certificate).   We have been unable to find him on the 1901 census (to give us clues to finding William and Ann).  The nearest I have found is a Joseph A in the Durham Road Childrens Hospital, Gateshead, but he is listed as 1 10/12 which, if accurate suggests he was born in May 1899.

Any suggestions or access to resources ??

Hi Casalguidi,

Many thanks for the information, could be possibles.

To answer you question: On Joseph's birth cert, William is shown as "Chemist's Labourer".   However, my wife is pretty sure that he became a miner (or worked in a colliery).
