That was strange the reference on the USA record for Orin Harry Weir born Montana.
The 1921 Calgary East said Orin born Alberta.

There was a border crossing Canada to the USA - Port of Blaine Washington -  for Bernice/Burnice Cooper Weir - al Hutchins born 1925 Hardesty Alta. Father Orin Harry Weir, Walnut Grove British Columbia. Last address 165 W Pender Vancouver British Columbia. Going to Frd G R Martin,  Box 537, Marysville Washington.

I have to burst your bubble about the "John Grant" listed as father on Georgina's death registration.

Georgina's birth reg. lists her as Georgina Ross COOPER, illegitimate daughter of Margaret Cooper.
She was born 24 Nov 1890 in New Pitsligo, Aberdeen.  Margaret was a domestic servant.  The address is too faded to read.  There is no repudiated father listed.  Although her middle name was transcribed as Ross, it could be read just as well as Rose.

Georgina shows in the 1901 Census with Margaret and stepfather Francis GRANT in Gilcomstin, Aberdeen, RD St Machar.  It shows both Georgina and Margaret as born in New Pitsligo.

There is a marriage of Margaret Cooper to Francis Irvine GRANT in 1899, RD St. Machar.

After digging the above out of Scotlandspeople,  I could find a tree on Anc. that lists Margaret as Margaret Clark Cooper,  1870 - 1929, and the daughter of George Cooper and Ann Corbet.  I have NOT confirmed any of that.

So while the father may have been a John Grant, it's just not in the paper trail.

If you would like a copy of her birth reg. for your records, pm me an email addy that I can send to.

In case you don't already have it, Georgina's death record is online at:

I guess the good news is that your probably aren't related to your husband!

Sandra

There was someone of that name (Bernice Hutchins) listed on Canada Voters Lists living in York Scarborough Ontario 1953/1972 ???.

Did you think that Bernice was linked to the name "Bobby" or was that another sibling ?  You might have found more on her in this 12 years since this thread was raised ?

Strange Lerna (unless she was referred to as the sister in New Zealand ?) or Bernice were not listed in the obit for Orin in 1975 -  Lerna didn't pass until 1987 ??
