1891 PHYTHIAN in Birkenhead Cheshire & Bidston
« on: Thursday 20 May 04 13:38 BST (UK) »
As warned in the common room...  ;)

Can a very kind sole (teehee I used to be a fish biologist!) look up the following PHYTHIAN family.

Head will be Joseph Phythian aged about 40 working as a gass or iron worker.  He should have a wife called Rose born in Ireland and there should be 2 youngsters one called Rose aged 1 or 2 and one called Aaron 1 or newly born.  There should be older children from the first marriage.

There address in 1881 is Hind St Birkenhead.  Going by the 1901 census they moved to Fazakerley around 1882/3.

If it isn't too cheeky could I also get a look up for a Moses PHYTHIAN who should be living at Pym Cottage Bidston - this guy is sketchy at the moment!

Super thanks in advance much appreciated.
Pam

Hmm that's the problem - my uncle seems to remember addresses as clear as if it was today but the finer details like ages, relations he ain't so good at.

For 1881 I have a 29 yr old, a 16 yr old, a 57 yr old and a 65 yr old so on the basis I can use these to spark some kind of memory in my Dad and Uncle can I have the 8 year old and this should cover most possibly related families.

It is so very kind of you and very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Pam

if you have a 29 yr old in 1881 then the 39 year old in 1891 would be logical and he happens to be the father of the 8 yr old so you get 2 for the price of one.
if you want the full page then PM me as it is very difficult to read if I send the full page as attachment so i have sent part of the page i think!

Donna

Ps it was me wot saw Phythians in the liverpool records office yesterday unfortunately i can't remember exactly where. Co-incidence though eh!

Whaheyy this is great thanks so much munchies.

It is an odd name that could jump out at you or maybe it is part of a grander plan where our ancestors hold the destiny to their discovery, oooh do you think?  Maybe the wads and wads of dead souls (I guess that includes soles?) are milling around waiting for the opportunity to be part of a tree and they start to be noticed..

Or maybe I've gone mad?  :P

Time to go back to pater and try and get the jigsaw to fit a bit!

Thanks again,
Pam

HA

I've just realised your first reply, munchies!  I used to live just a few streets away from their house..  How biazzare.  Coupled with the fact that I now live 2 roads away from where my 6xg grandfather was born.

Since I had no known family connection to either place until very recently AND they are ~ 300 miles apart - Are we drawn to these places?

Yes, I believe we are drawn to locations by some strange sense.

I was born in the Southern part of Nottinghamshire, but whenever we visited to central Notts in the Soutwell / Newark Area, I always felt comfortable and relaxed. Was not until some 40 years later when I started to research the Family History that I discovered that for over 100years, my ancestors lived near Southwell in a small self contained community where there was a Silk Mill Maythorne Mill.
They were all baptized, Married and a lot of them are buried in Southwell Minster.
