I wonder if someone would be kind enough to see if they can find
John Kavanagh born liverpool+wife Esther born Dublin(maiden name Smyth) and daughter
Mary or Mary Elizabeth,I have John and Esthers Marriage cert,
they married in St Peters R.C. church in Seel street,Their daughter Mary was baptised in
St Ozbergs? Old Swan, Liverpool, marriage and birth both took place in 1899.They are in
Dublin after 1901 but not on the 1901 census for Dublin so assuming they were
still in Liverpool or in transit to Dublin.

Esther Kavanagh and daughter Lillian/Mary were living in Toxteth Park Liverpool in 1901. You can find them on the Census returns of 1901. John however isn't there and as he was in the army he may have been abroad at the time.  Lat1

John Kavanagh and Esther Smyth were my grandparents and I too am looking for information on them. John was in the army and possibly in the RFA as a gunner/driver. I'm searching the WW1 medals register to see if I can locate him. I know he served in India (Rawalpindi) and the Balkans (Salonica). Lillian your grandmother and Gerard my father were brother and sister.

Well I'm so delighted to hear from you!! I knew Gerard was my great uncle,
I don't know if you sent me a personal message as well but I'm having trouble accessing
my p.m. s at the moment.By the way my gran was called Lily by the family but her actual
name was Mary and possibly Mary Elizabeth.
Looking forward to further contact with you.
                                                                      best wishes.Anne

Sent you a personal message with my email address but forgot to say my
avatar picture is my grandfather John Owens.I only remember one photo of
John and Esther as an older couple in the house in Kimmage,I don't have this
and have no idea who might have it now, mores the pity. Anne
