Do you have anybody in particular in mind ?
if you could post details -  full names, date of birth, years travelled ,any census info you already have, place of origin etc - America is a big place !!

hi annie sorry to be so long in replying but have been on holiday for 2weeks the main person im looking for is john william bennett born 1875 in warrington lancs england the nearest person i can trace going out to the usa was a john william who resided in liitle hulton nr bolton lancs this could fit in as his father remarried and lived there until his death and his brother lived there until about 1905, the date he set sail was 1914 from liverpool on the mauratania thats all i have hope you can help.

15th April 1914 Ship MERION Liverpool to Philadelphia PA

William John Bennett aged 41
Railway worker
last residence Manchester
going to John Robinson Brother- in- law -  19 Stanley St Openshaw Iowa
there was a note about Fanny Bennett listed as his sister
does that look about right ??

hi annie no thats not him my john arrived nov 14th 1913 age 39 listed as married but can't find any mrs bennett on board the mauratania sailed out of liverpool, can't find any trace of him after this tried lots of message boards  but no luch as yet he had a brother named joseph and a sister named ellen he came back to the uk once to see his siblings but didn't meet them as at the time he went to a place called sutton and his siblings lived in sutton manor a friend of my grandfather (joseph) informed him but it was to late as he had left to return to the states sutton and sutton manor are only 4 miles apart that was the last my grandfather or any of the family heard about him.

Well you had said he sailed 1914 so that's what I was looking for ..!!
so what else do you know? how do you know the date he sailed etc ? Maybe his wife had died during the Spanish Flu epidemic and that's why he left England - what was his occupation ? do you have anything else that could help find him? Rootschat helps people find out for themselves - and not rely on waiting to find if other people  are related - it's much more fun that way..!!!!

thanks annie yes i would like to see the information you mention, as for how i found him i found him through ellis island search and on the mauratanie passenger list, the only thing i know about him is his date of birth, place, parents and sibblings.
