Malone Family

Hi All,
I'm researching our family tree and have made a few posts on the Antrim section. From the 1901 census, I have found a Francis Malone who was born in Co Derry, 1850/1. Having spent the last week digging and sorting, I cant seem to get anywhere. Would anyone have any info or ideas.

Hello JTM
I have just joined and read your post. I am also looking for Malones- specifically a William Malone who was a farmer in Clarehill,Aghadowey,Derry in 1864.  He had a son John who married Mary Moon in 1864.  John, I think was my Grt Grandfather so William would be my Grt. Grt.Grandfather. Quite exciting.
Perhaps trying the Aghadowey site in Londonderry would help you.

John Malone, eldest son of William Malone, married Mary Moon, eldest daughter of Thomas Moon, in 1864.
John and Mary had the following children (that I have found so far): Joseph (c1867), Thomas James (1870), George (1874), child (c1875), Ellen Jane (1877), Sarah Jane (1879), Archibald Roger (1882).
A William Malone, son of William, married Nancy Hemphill in 1861.
Another William Malone (age 18) died at sea on way to Brisbane, Australia in 1864.
There were also Malones at Clintagh.

Another child of John Malone and Mary Moon was John Robertson Malone, born Aghadowey on 16 May 1871.

Will add that one to my notes- he doesn't appear in baptismal register for Aghadowey Presbyterian Church.

Should have also added that John and Mary (Moon) Malione lived in Knockaduff from at least 1870 onwards. There were Malones in Knockaduff townland by 1813.

A few more bits for this Malone family.
John Malone's parents were William Malone and Jane Cunningham.
John Malone and Mary Moon married 18 Feb.1864 Coleraine Registry Office. In 1867 they were living at Keely and by 1870 Knockaduff.
Children:
1. William Alexander born 29 Mar.1865 Aghadowey district.
2. Joseph bapt. 12 Oct.1867 Aghadowey Presbyterian Church
3. Thomas James born 9 Aug.1869 Aghadowey dist.
4. John Robertson born 16 May 1871 Knockaduff.
5. George born 17 Jan.1874 Aghadowey dist.
6. Child bapt. 18 Oct.1875 Aghadowey Presbyterian Church.
7. Ellen Jane born 13 June 1877.
8. Sarah Jane/Ann Moon Malone born 17 June 1879- Sarah Jane Malone bapt. 5 Feb.1880 Aghadowey Presbyterian Church. Birth reg: Sarah Anne Moon Malone.
9. Archibald Rogers Malone born 26 Mar.1882- Archibald Roger Malone bapt. 7 Sept.1882 Aghadowey Presbyterian Church. Birth reg: Archibald Rogers Malone.

William Malone and Jane Cunningham also had at least 2 other children:
1. Ellen.
2. William who married 29 Oct.1861 Coleraine Registry Office to Nancy Hemphill.

Not sure if this is relevant but folowing on from Aghadowey's information Ellen Malone married Samuel Andrews in Ballylaggan Reformed Presbyterian Church, Macosquin Parish, Coleraine on 15 Jul 1875. She appears on the 1901 and 1911 census living in Garvagh (Sarvagh in 1901).
